Will distribute Lenovo's full consumer and business ranges in the UK

Westcoast signs Lenovo

Lenovo has signed a deal with Westcoast that will see it distribute the vendor’s full range of products, aimed at winning market share from its rivals.

The deal means that Westcoast will distribute Lenovo’s full consumer and business ranges, alongside current distributors Interface Solutions, Ingram Micro and Northamber.

Speaking to PC Retail, Terry Shaw, commercial manager at Westcoast, said: "The consequence of Westcoast’s ‘narrow and deep’ philosophy is that we are very selective with regard to our vendor partnerships.

"Our engagement with Lenovo brings another world-class vendor into our portfolio. We see it as a big opportunity to create incremental business for both Lenovo and ourselves."

The news comes just three weeks after PC Retail reported on Lenovo’s plans to further expand its market share in the wake of Acer’s purchase of Gateway and Packard Bell.
