Next-gen open-world game sees players take control of hacker Aiden Pearce

Watch Dogs hits PC May 27th

Watch Dogs will be released on PC on May 27th.

The open-world title, which sees players take control of hacker Aiden Pearce will hit PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One the same day. The Wii U version will release “at a later date”, said Ubisoft.

“We are pleased to be able to reveal to gamers all over the world the new release date for Watch Dogs,” commented Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA SVP of sales and marketing, Ubisoft.

“We are extremely confident that the additional time we afforded the dev team to refine and polish the game will be more than worth the wait.”

Watch Dogs had originally been slated to release alongside the PS4 and Xbox One late last year, but was delayed in order to finish polishing up the game.

While the PC and Xbox versions of Watch Dogs will release the same day as PlayStation formats, Sony’s consoles will be provided with an extra hour of gameplay.

“We’re really excited for the launch of Watch Dogs on both PS3 and PS4 and are confident that it will prove to be one of the standout games of 2014,” said Michael Pattison, VP of third party relations at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
