Steve Jobs biopic ‘jOBS’ to hit cinemas in April

Open Road Films has announced that the Steve Jobs biopic, which stars Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher, is set for an April release

jOBS, which was written by Matthew Whitely and directed by Joshua Michael Stern, is said to chronicle the defining 30 years of the tech guru’s life.

The film is set to premiere on the closing night of the Sundance Film Festival later this month.

Tom Ortenberg, chief executive of the film’s distributor Open Road, commented: "jOBS is certain to resonate with audiences and we are thrilled to partner with Five Star Films to bring this film to theatres."

Trevor Groth, director of programming for the Sundance Film Festival, added: "The films in the Premieres and Documentary Premieres sections offer compelling portraits of worlds and people ranging from the beloved to the misunderstood to the unknown.

"Expertly crafted by some of the most esteemed filmmakers in the world these films have the power to delight audiences at the Festival and impact our culture at large."

Kutcher was first spotted filming in June 2012 at Jobs’ old Los Altos home, where the first Apple computer was built.
