New technology from Ruckus will be distributed along a 27-mile stretch of the river

River Thames to get upgraded wi-fi

BT’s Thames wi-fi service will be the test site for Ruckus Wireless’ new range extension technology.

According to T3, the new service offers faster and wider coverage by routing the signal around obstacles and through interference. It will be deployed along the full expanse of BTs existing network, which stretches 27 miles along the river.

It will be deployed through the next few months and will be available for free to BT users. Customers for other networks will need to check with their service providers.
