YoYoTech returns as etailer, offers trade accounts to PC stores

Performance PC specialist YoYoTech has returned – as both a B2C etail store and a B2B supplier.

The former High Street retailer, which opened a store in London’s Tottenham Court Road in 2002, went into voluntary liquidation earlier this year, but was acquired by Centerprise International in June.

The new YoYoTech website is now live, and features stock-check and live-chat services. A reseller programme, backed by an advertising campaign, is also due to launch in the coming months.

CK, YoYoTech’s MD (pictured), told PCR: “We’re part of a much bigger group, so it’s a massive change for us to be honest. We’re going to be an online-only operation rather than a High Street operation, and we’ll provide things we’ve always done best like water-cooled systems, quality gaming PCs, high-end components and bundles.

“As we’re backed by Centerprise, our buying power is a lot greater and we have a direct link with some of the factories. We’re also able to offer trade accounts; independent retailers can benefit from additional discounts, credit services, warranty, selling [products] at the same prices as us and reselling YoYoTech kit.

“Having been an indie, I can understand that market and the pain and suffering some indies have. I always felt there’s nothing out there in terms of advice – we want to advise them and tell them if something will work for them.”

CK is also confident about entering the competitive PC gaming online retail market which already has many well-established players.

“We are confident that we are very different [to brands like Overclockers and Scan],” he added. 

“They are stocking anything and everything now – they used to be very niche but have become one of many.

“We want to keep that niche, so when people go onto our site, the look and feel is totally different. It’s not designed to undercut or be the cheapest in the world; it’s more about working with a handful of vendors and providing quality, solutions and a full service to the end user and our retail partners.

“I’m just so glad to be back to be honest – back in the industry and back having the brand which is kind of my baby. I’m very excited.”

Centerprise chairman Rafi Razzak added: “We are pleased to welcome the YoYoTech brand into the Centerprise Group of companies.
