Give customers something they will 'truly be happy with' - find out more at PCR Boot Camp on Wednesday May 29th

You can replace lost PC sales with mobile devices, asserts Prestigio

While desktop sales may be slowing, there are still lots of opportunities for smart technology retailers and the tablet and smartphone markets will be key.

This is the view of consumer electronics brand Prestigio, which is due to exhibit at PCR Boot Camp this year on Wednesday May 29th – register for free at www.pcrbootcamp.com/dealer-registration

UK sales director Martin MacNamara believes that 2013 will have certain challenges: “For me one of the key issues is going to be replacing the lost sales and margin that retailers used to have on PCs, notebooks, netbooks and of course the associated accessories. We all know that sales of the above are continuing to decline and it’s vital to find something to replace this with.”

While Prestigio has an extensive range of tablets and smartphones, it says retailers must offer more than mere product.

MacNamara continued: “It’s going to be important for all retailers to replace this business, with tablets certainly, but also to make sure they are offering a quality product, not just selling on price point. Upsell your customers to something they are going to be truly happy with rather than just settling for the cheapest. Also you have to look at the smartphone market, most consumers are going to be looking at tablets, but every consumer is going to need a smartphone.”
