Independent IT resellers have a "huge advantage" over High Street chains thanks to the ‘world’s must comprehensive’ in-store PC system configurator, says distributor Target Components.
It’s the latest development of Target’s recently-launched Custom PC Builder. Resellers can now incorporate their own logo and branding, and have complete control over pricing, allowing them to build bespoke systems for their customers.
It is offered free to all Target customers and requires no software downloads or installation.
The store owner can start from any product and build a system around it, with the configurator suggesting better options when certain components are selected. The completed specs are then created as orders and built in-house by Target’s own system builders in a static and dust-free environment. These are also stress-tested before being sent out to the reseller.
The configurator also checks the compatibility of accessories and peripherals listed as options.
Target’s marketing exec Cory Lees said: “We believe the In-Store PC Builder is the most comprehensive system configurator anywhere and it could be the biggest advantage independent resellers have had over the chains and big etailers to date – no one else has anything like it.
“Being able to offer over 400 component options and the resulting millions of possible configurations is a massive boon Target customers. They can now offer really high-quality, professionally built systems, without having to stock the components. They can then create anything from one-off gaming PCs to multiple units for businesses and educational establishments. What’s more, they can use the system on-site using a tablet or other mobile device and show their customers the cost at the same time.”
