Networks could wobble as employees log on to watch matches

World Cup could bring ?internet chaos? for businesses

Businesses are being warned that the World Cup could take down their online networks over the next few weeks as staff log on to view live streaming of the games.

TechWatch claims that up to 50 per cent of employees have admitted they will be checking out the football online in the office. And that could potentially cause network systems to slow down or even crash completely.

The World Cup kicks off this Friday (June 11th), but TechWorld points out that the test for businesses will come when England plays its first daytime game on June 23rd against Slovenia.
