Administrators Deloitte are set to publish a report today detailing the decline of the electrical retailer, which ran into trouble in November after notching up £200m of losses.

The government will take a £50m hit from the collapse and has agreed to pay the redundancy costs of the 6,000 plus staff left jobless.

Samsung buys storage software maker Nvelo

Samsung has announced that it has acquired US-based software specialist Nvelo in an undisclosed deal.

“The acquisition of Nvelo will enable us to extend our ability to provide SSD related storage solutions to customers. We are pleased with this transaction as the employees of Nvelo share our vision to take SSD storage into the next-generation of performance and reliability,” said Young-Hyun Jun, executive VP of flash product and technology for Samsung’s device solutions business.

UK is global leader in mobile market

A new Ofcom report reveals that the UK has taken over Japan as the world leader in mobile use.

UK residents now consume more data on their phones or tablets than any other country with 424 megabytes of data each month.

Apple sells over 2m iPhone 5’s in China

Over 2m units have sold in one weekend in china, breaking the iPhone 4S’s previous record.

By the end of December the iPhone 5 will be available in more than 100 countries, making it the fastest iPhone rollout ever.
