Network operator to offer device for free, describes move as 'natural step'

Vodafone details netbook deal

Vodafone has released further details concerning its netbook deal with Dell, with the network operator describing the move as a ‘natural step’.

The deal, which will be available through Vodafone retail stores, its online site and corporate account managers, will see the network operator offering the device from free on a 24-month contract. The firm is still to release details of tariff.

Speaking about the deal, Vodafone’s chief executive Nick Read said: "More and more consumers want an easy and quick way to connect to the internet, but there are times when they also want to catch up with emails on a screen larger than a mobile without compromising portability.

"We have taken the natural step to marry together great ultra-mobile technology with the UK’s fastest and most reliable mobile broadband service," he added.
