Businesses awaiting the release of the first service pack for Vista before upgrading their operating system have been dealt a blow today with the suggestion that it may not arrive until 2008. As reported by PC Retail the service pack, brought on partly by Microsoft’s move to comply with anti-trust regulations, will be the first major change to its new operating system.
Already, high-profile customers including Intel have stated that they will not be upgrading their systems till after SP1 arrives. Speaking about the problems the early announcement of SP1 have caused Microsoft, Julie Giera, a Forrester Research vice president said: “Why in your right mind would you install and then turn around and install again,” referring to the reasons why many businesses are waiting to upgrade. “You'd have to be out of your mind.”
