Virgin Media to bundle TiVo as standard

British cable ISP Virgin Media is to launch new broadband/television packages this month with the TiVo TV catch up service included as standard.

Virgin said the new ‘Collections’ bundles were complete revamps of bundles "designed to meet the increasing mainstream demand for faster broadband and intelligent connected TV services."

Virgin Media chief Andrew Barron said: "This is the first time we’ve combined these leading products in this way and these ground-breaking Collections mark a new chapter for digital services in the UK."

The new Collections packages come in three flavours, Essential, Premiere and VIP. The £25 per month Essential collection includes a 500GB TiVi digital TV box, 75 channels and 6 HD channels, 30Mb/sec broadband and the Talk Weekends telephone package.

The £45 Premiere bundle includes a V HD set-up box, 175 channels, 23 HD channels and 60Mb/sec cable broadband. The range topping £90 per month VIP package includes a TiVo box with 1TB of storage, adds 13 HD channels and ups the broadband to 100Mb and adds Talk Unlimited telephone service.

Ex-Who star David Tennant and Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson are to feature in a new advertising campaign to promote the ‘Collections’ bundles.
