Retailer plans to implement 50 additional stores within a year

Virgin Media plans to triple retail presence

Virgin Media has announced plans to significantly grow its high street presence by up to 50 stores within a year.

The plans include the construction of kiosks or ‘shops without walls’ that will offer broadband, TV and mobile phone packages.

According to Retail Week, other stores will follow Apple’s model of interactive stores, where products can be tried out before purchase – a model that Virgin has already trialled in several UK cities.

“Our continued focus on quality and outstanding service has helped us build a strong customer base,” said Virgin Media’s CEO Neil Berkett.

“By increasing our high street presence, we’ll be able to drive further growth whilst communicating the benefits of Virgin Media’s products in a way that makes sense for consumers.”
