VIP Computers has announced its exclusive distribution rights of a new range of Gigabyte and Aorus notebooks.

The Gigabyte notebooks are designed to appeal to a wider audience of high-end users, rather than solely gamers, said VIP.

The models include high-performance components and eight-series graphics, and will retail from £599 to £1,899.

By comparison, the new Aorus line is designed purely for gamers.

VIP has secured exclusive distribution rights to the Aorus X7 (pictured), a notebook which it claims is “the thinnest and lightest GTX SLI gaming notebook” available.

The first notebook to include SLI graphics, which means that two or more graphics cards can be run in parallel for extra power, the X7 measures 22.9mm deep and weighs 2.9kg.

The X7 has a recommended retail price of £1,749. Gigabyte UK country manager Steve Clark commented: “We want to work with partners who understand the market for a quality product and resellers who can add value and are looking to do more than simply move boxes for small margins.

“Resellers of all sizes can benefit from the healthy margins on offer with these notebooks.

“We have chosen to work exclusively with VIP as our distribution partner because we believe their focus on the gaming market will help us achieve our goals.”

VIP notebook product manager Mark Lynch added: “Gigabyte and Aorus manufacture, develop and research their notebooks in-house so the quality and specification of the components is first-class.

“When gamers are looking to invest in a new notebook, they are looking for fantastic tech specs, an efficient and experienced manufacturing process and excellent value for money which is exactly what these new additions offer.

“We look forward to getting stocks into our customers and seeing them fly off the shelves.”

Gigabyte stock will be available from VIP in early June, with Aorus stock following in July.
