Distributor VIP Computers is exploring the growing wearable technology category and will exclusively supply the Razer Nabu smartband in the UK.
"Wearable tech will be big in 2014," VIP Computers director Rich Marsden told PCR. "Anybody that went to CES would have seen the halls and halls full of smartwatches and health monitors.
"We’ve got the Razer Nabu which launches in the middle of 2014, and that’s an exciting bit of technology. We’ll run that exclusively in the UK on allocation initially. If you follow Razer on Twitter, you’ll see they’ve had 10,000 applications to write apps for Nabu already. The interest generated around that product now is frightening.
Marsden added: "For us wearable tech is a completely new market but I think it’s the same for everyone.
"We are looking in that space, and come peak it will be a big area in our industry."
VIP Computers recently announced the date of its third Evolution channel event.
