The pressure seemed a little too much for Promate's regional director

Vendor storms off stage at Distree conference

Lifestyle tech vendor Promate’s regional director walked off stage mid-pitch at the Distree EMEA 2014 ’60 Seconds To Convince’ conference.

The awards programme provides a platform for vendors to talk about their product in one minute, in a bid to persuade distributors in the audience to buy stock.

It wasn’t quite on the scale of Michael Bay walking off Samsung’s stage at CES 2014, but it seemed the pressure was too much for Kenneth Ditlev Pedersen, regional director at Promate Technologies Europe.

After around 30 to 40 seconds into his speech about the Promate Panorama+ projector, he broke off mid-sentence and apologised before rushing off stage.

It wouldn’t be fair to focus solely on this incident, however. Promate almost tripled its sales year-on-year in 2013, entering a host of European markets and partnering with other businesses in the channel.

Promate also launched more than 300 new lifestyle technology products and solutions last year.

Other ’60 Seconds To Convince’ pitches included an extravagant dress-up display from Acme staff, who presented their two-in-one carry bags to the audience, while Modecom resorted to prancing around the stage with their new tablet.
