Experienced UK channel strategy director leaves IT trade association

Vaughan Shayler departs CompTIA

Well-known channel executive Vaughan Shayler has left IT trade association CompTIA.

PCR learnt of the news following Shayler’s inclusion into our Brit List 2015: Top 50 tech execs feature which was put together at the beginning of 2015.

It is understood that Shayler departed company from CompTIA in the past few days.

He worked as channel strategy director at the organisation for two and a half years, after joining in October 2012. Prior to that, Shayler worked as MD of Accredit UK and before that held a variety of roles including head of IT at Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Fire Service and more.

A CompTIA spokesperson told PCR that the association is currently hiring someone to replace Shayler, who will look after the UK channel community going forwards.

It’s not yet clear whether Shayler will be working within the IT channel or not in the future.

PCR has reached out to both CompTIA and Shayler, and will update this article with any further developments as we receive word.
