Firm hires additional staff to fulfil customer demand

Utopia stops taking Christmas orders due to demand

System builder Utopia Computers has announced that is has stopped taking orders for Christmas delivery.

"The whole team here made the considered decision to stop taking orders for Christmas deliveries,” said Craig Hume, director of Utopia.

“We have received a record number of orders and our books are now completely full all the way to the end of the year. We have even brought on additional staff to fulfil customer demand, but we are still unable to meet the Christmas deadline. It would be easy to make false promises, however, this would endanger the unrivalled service and quality that we deliver to our customers on a daily basis."

Mark Laurie, another director of Utopia, added: "It comes as no surprise that this Christmas is our busiest ever. We have seen a staggering 358 per cent growth on-line over the past 18 months, so we knew to expect big things. We just didn’t expect demand to be quite this high."

Last month, Utopia became the first computer manufacturer officially accredited as a Living Wage Employer.
