Ubisoft has become the No. 2 publisher in UK and Europe as it announced game sales almost doubled year-on-year.
The publisher now has a 9.5 per cent share of the games market in Europe and 11 per cent in the UK. Comparatively, in the US Ubisoft is No. 4 publisher with a six per cent market share.
In its first fiscal quarter ending June 30th this year the publisher announced total sales of EURO 161m – an increase of 94 per cent compared to the year before. Success was attributed to Splinter Cell: Conviction which sold 1.9m units, and sustained sales of Just Dance, Assassin’s Creed 2 and Avatar.
