In-store kiosks lift sales 45 per cent

Turtle Beach retail sales rise; more branded headsets due

Gaming headset brand Turtle Beach has seen its product sales rise 45 per cent thanks to its in-store kiosks.

These let consumers try out a range of headsets and access content such as video game trailers via an embedded tablet.

“Giving a little more information or interaction goes a long way,” Turtle Beach European business development manager Wayne Friday told PCR.

“Turtle Beach introduced the Retail Kiosk to give customers an experience of Turtle Beach in-store before they buy. We have found that this interaction with the consumers helps them make the purchasing decision there and then.

“Globally this single piece of in-store theatre has increased retail sales by over 45 per cent. We also have product videos and assets to enhance the online customer experience.”

Turtle Beach recently signed a multi-year deal with publisher Blizzard to create official PC headsets based on upcoming game Heroes of the Storm – and expects to sign similar deals in the future.

“We are in a great position at the moment – we have the Microsoft licence to create Xbox One headsets, our Apple partnership is helping us make inroads into the media headset category and we are adding to our range of stellar licensing partners to sit alongside the likes of Call of Duty, Titanfall and Marvel,” Friday added.

“There are more huge announcements to come – so it’s a very exciting time.”

Turtle Beach will also launch the Z60 headset later this year which features new surround sound technology.
