Tribeka, the provider of the innovative SoftWide software retail system, has created the world’s first platforms for providing software on USB.
Having launched its SoftWide system, which burns centrally stored software on to a disc and creates the packaging in-store, in to several major retailers, the vendor is now looking to recreate this success in USB format.
The move aims to provide a solution for users of various devices that do not carry a disc drive, including netbooks, tablets and internet enabled TVs. The initial launch will feature over 50 titles for provision on USB with more expected to follow, including movies and console game add-ons.
“Moving into USB will see our retail partners use SoftWide to meet existing demands and also create a brand new market,” said Tribeka’s senior vice president for worldwide retail and content, Faz Suleman.
“With retail customers now looking for multiple media formats – CD, DVD, Blu-ray, USB and Flash media – SoftWide’s ability to deliver all formats, without adding stock, will ensure that our retail partners will always be in stock, each time and every time.”
