IFA 2010: Vendor unveils Android-powered tablet

Toshiba has revealed its new entry to the tablet PC market at the IFA 2010 consumer electronics trade show in Berlin.

According to Good E-Reader, the device uses Android 2.1 and features a 10.1-inch multi-touch screen with 1024 x 600 resolution. It is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor with 16GB of internal storage plus an SD card slot.

At this time, the device has wi-fi support, with 3G to follow once negotiations with telecoms providers are completed. It also has Bluetooth support, allowing for Skype calls, and carries HDMI and USB ports and integrated speakers.

The wi-fi device will be available in Europe from November at a price of €429 (£357), with the 3G enabled device expected for Q1 2011 at a price of €529 (£440).
