The Sims 4 will arrive on PC and Mac on September 5th, available in boxed standard, limited, collector’s and premium editions.

The Sims is among the biggest-selling PC franchises of all time, having sold more than 175 million copies worldwide since the original launched in 2000.

Publisher EA announced The Sims 4's release date at video games trade show E3 in Los Angeles.

The Sims 4 introduces a new generation of ‘smarter’ Sims, who will react with new emotions and personalities. The game will also make sharing user-created content easier, with an integrated item gallery.

“Our fans will be able to experience why we believe The Sims 4 is the best life simulation game ever,” said Rachel Franklin, VP and executive producer for The Sims 4.

“These are brand new Sims whose traits, emotions and aspirations combine to define more meaningful personalities than you’ve ever played with before. You decide not only what they look like, but more importantly, who they are. The combination of these new Sims, our powerful new creative tools, and the all-new Gallery add up to the best game we’ve ever made.”

“Visually, this is the biggest step the FIFA franchise has ever taken,” said David Rutter, executive producer of EA Sports FIFA.

FIFA 15 will be available on PC, Xbox One and PS4 in September.

Several other EA Sports games joined FIFA, including golf game PGA Tour, exclusive to PS4 and Xbox One, and hockey title NHL 15, which will land on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in September.

EA’s big shooter franchise Battlefield is also set to return, in an altered form.

Battlefield Hardline is being developed by Visceral Games, developer of the Dead Space series, and will bring Battlefield’s military shooter action and destructabile envionments to cops versus robbers warfare.

Hardline will hit PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on October 24th in the UK, with a closed multiplayer beta now open for applications on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
