Tennis player uses iPhone to challenge call during French Open

Ukranian tennis player Sergiy Stakhovsky stopped play during a match at the French Open to use his iPhone to photograph a disputed line call.

The 27-year-old took a picture on his mobile phone in order to document the judge’s supposed error during his straight sets defeat to Richard Gasquet.

Stakhovsky photographed the tramlines and said he intended to show it to supervisors of the French Open in a bid to salvage his prize money.

This is not the first time the tennis player has whipped his phone out to argue a point during a match. Last month the world number 101 pulled the same stunt in Munich.

"Munich was a very close call which could go both ways, so I didn’t really bother going to the supervisor and asking," he said.

"But this one is in a Grand Slam, so first of all, the fine is actually there, possibly, (and) I don’t want to get it. So I’ll try to explain myself. I don’t know if it’s going to work."

The tennis player later tweeted the image he took with his iPhone.
