Tech execs from Dixons, The Hut, Computacenter and Tech City have signed an open letter backing Tories, as Labour plans to change zero hours contracts.
Within the letter (which was sent to the Daily Telegraph) execs praised the Conservative’s overall economic policies, highlighting Chancellor George Osborne’s plans to lower corporation tax to 20 per cent.
Signatures from the likes of BP chief executive Bob Dudley, Prudential chief executive Tidjane Thiam, Dixons Carphone’s Sir Charles Dunstone, and Dragons Den star Duncan Bannatyne were all included.
The letter states that a “change in course” would threaten jobs and slow the UK economy’s recovery.
Labour is promising that an employee will be given regular hours after working with a company for three months, under the revised zero hours contract.
The zero hours policy was revealed following David Cameron’s admission that he could not live on such a contract.
Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne recently revealed 2015’s budget, which included a £40 million plan to improve the Internet of Things in the UK.
