Distributor Tech Data UK has added Magnese’s range of security locks, PC and laptop chargers, connectors, mice and privacy filters to its portfolio.

Northamptonshire-based Magnese is already established as a supplier of customised tech accessories to corporate and specialist resellers; the agreement with Tech Data brings the UK company’s range to the IT reseller community for the first time.

The company can 'fully customise' products to meet the needs of end user organisations on behalf of reseller partners.

Paul Jacobs, PC components and accessories business unit manager at Tech Data UK, said: "Magnese really is one of the best-kept secrets of the business. They are a remarkable company, producing remarkable and highly-marketable solutions and its products bring an added dimension to our charging and security portfolio. We see almost unlimited potential for its current range and if you have customers with a very specific requirement, Magnese can help there as well.”

Magnese's chief inspiration officer Jonnie Davis added: “This is a new adventure for us and one we are really looking forward to. We are hoping that many more resellers in the UK channel will start investigate to what we have to offer as a result of this partnership. Our team are ready and eager to help and support them in bringing more of our workplace concepts to life.”

In other Tech Data news, the firm's Azlan enterprise division is helping resellers get to grips with the concept of software-defined networking (SDN) by offering them access to a new demonstration centre at its HP Enterprise Group Demo Lab facility in Basingstoke.

Azlan’s HP EG team has built the lab-based facility to provide a simple way for reseller to set-up test environments and demonstrations for customers and to educate their own sales and technical teams. It is available for resellers to utilise free of charge, by arrangement with Azlan’s HP team.

Azlan says SDN is expected to be one of the next big trends in the enterprise market. According to IDC, the worldwide SDN market for the enterprise and cloud service provider segments will grow from $960 million in 2014 to over $8 billion by 2018.

Jonathan Kaiser, general manager for products and services at the Azlan HP Enterprise Group, commented: “Software-defined networking promises to completely re-define the way that infrastructures are designed and managed. But while it is deliverable today, most VARs and end-user customers are only just starting to learn about the concept and everything that it entails. We have set up the SDN demo facility so that resellers can to brief both their own teams on the technology and show their customers what SDN is all about and the benefits it can deliver.”

Resellers that would like to see how HP’s approach to SDN works in practice, can contact Jack Tokarski, HP networking solutions architect at Azlan on 07771 503853 or email him at jack.tokarski@azlan.com.
