Distributor Tech Data has outlined plans to increase its number of retail and vendor partners, and has appointed a dedicated retail board.
The board, consisting of senior management, is headed up by group sales director Martin Boyce and will focus on developing the company’s retail strategy and driving higher awareness and activity across the business.
Tech Data says it wants to increase the number of retailers its supplies to.
Boyce said: “We have the systems, processes, people, resources and partnerships in place and we are ready to extend our reach much further.”
The company is also forming new partnerships with key retail vendors. It says it already works with 'many leading consumer brands' and is presently talking to a number of a number of other major names about adding their product lines to its portfolio.
"Tech Data has the capability to bring new products to market very quickly and effectively for new vendor partners, and to significantly extend and optimise their reach in the UK market," added Boyce.
"We wants to be the first choice distributor for retailers and we are investing strongly with that goal in mind. We have a strategic plan and we are making a long-term commitment to growing our business in this sector.
“Giving consumers choices in terms of the way they can research, experience and buy products is very important in retail today and the processes we are now putting in place will help retailers to address the many challenges this brings.
"With our extensive logistics capabilities, Tech Data is uniquely positioned to meet these ‘omni-channel’ needs, and we are already working with many retail partners, helping them to give their customers additional choices, whilst staying in control of the associated costs.”
