Tech Data extends HP LaserJet offering as printer shipments rise in EMEA

Tech Data will now offer a full range of HP LaserJet multifunction printers (MFPs) following its additional appointment for the company’s high-end A3 devices.

All HP MFPs – from A4 devices such as the HP LaserJet Enterprise M525dn, right up to high-end A3 models like the HP LaserJet Enterprise Color MFP M880 series – are now available from the distributor.

As well as extending the availability of these higher-end devices to the wider business reseller market, Tech Data will be looking to recruit a significant number of additional managed print services partners who will be able to benefit from HP’s focused partner programme.

“We’re excited to be offering the complete range of HP LaserJet MFPs. It means that HP partners can now come to Tech Data for all multifunction products and we see bright prospects, both in the wider enterprise market and in the growing managed print services sector,” said Mark Glasspool, director of product marketing at Tech Data.

“We’ll be working with HP to demonstrate the benefits of its solutions and engaging with partners to maximise their potential. We have some specific goals and between now and the end of 2015 and we will be actively seeking out and talking to new prospective HP partners.”

Tech Data’s new HP partnership comes at an ideal time in the print market, as European IT market tracking firm Context, reveals that laser MFPs continued to register positive year-on-year performance with an increase of two per cent across EMEA in Q4 2014.

According to Context, the growth was driven by a 13 per cent increase in Western Europe.
