Tech Data boosts Microsoft cloud team with new appointment

Tech Data has boosted its Microsoft cloud team with the appointment of Joel Wilson.

Wilson joins the distributor as business development executive for the Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP) and Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) programme.

Previously, Wilson was part of the Microsoft Sure Step Team, which works with partners who are placing and managing their first orders and deliveries of Office 365.

In his new role, Wilson will deal with the growing demand for assistance on Microsoft CSP and SPLA.

Mark Whittle, Microsoft business manager at Tech Data, said: “Interest in CSP is growing fast and SPLA is also attracting more enquiries now. We’ve brought Joel in to ensure we can meet those demands.

“Tech Data puts the customer first and it’s important that we help Microsoft resellers start to understand and benefit from these progressive programmes in every way that we can.

“Tech Data is leading the way in cloud and we have a complete set of education and enablement resources in place. But, of course, we also need good people to work directly with partners, so Joel is a very welcome addition to the team.”

Tech Data was one of the first distributors selected to participate in Microsoft’s CSP programme.

The distributor has integrated CSP into its StreamOne Cloud aggregation and billing platform, which enables partners to collate invoices for their customers on a regular basis.
