Target Components has been appointed the sole distributor of Galaxy graphics cards in the UK.

Target takes on Galaxy

Galaxy’s nVidia-based cards have received considerable critical acclaim from hardware reviewers across Europe for their quality, in addition to their high-performance and noticeable improvements over nVidia’s reference boards.

It is particularly strong in the high end, enthusiast market, with innovations like the Masterpiece range earning it rave reviews. A Masterpiece card (pictured) is essentially two graphics cards combined into one and is thus referred to as a ‘dual core’ card. Galaxy is also one of the first nVidia board partners to overclock the new GeForce 8800GTX, already currently the fastest chipset on the market when running at standard clock-rate.

Target is stocking a full complement of Galaxy’s cards, the jewel in the crown being the powerful and DirectX-10-capable GeForce 8800GTX from under £310.The mid-to-high end is covered by a full range of 7000 series cards, while the great value AGP GeForce FX5200 and PCI-Express 6200TC are available for the entry-level system builder market.

Target’s sales director, James Yates commented, “We are delighted to have been appointed as Galaxy Technology’s number one distributor.Galaxy’s reputation among gaming enthusiasts has been consistently excellent, and we expect the brand to have a massive impact on the graphics market in 2007.We look forward to working very closely with both Galaxy and nVidia in the coming months”.

All Galaxy’s cards come fully retail-boxed, and are also completely customisable with the option of fitting noiseless, high-quality Zalman cooling fans. Alternatively certain models can be specified with fanless heatsinks for completely passive cooling. Anyone interested should contact the Target sales team with their requirements.
