Yorkshire-based Target Components held its third annual Open Day on Friday, which was bigger than ever before, with up to 350 retailers and resellers in attendance.

The Target Open Day, which took place at the distributor’s Castleford headquarters, hosted stands from around 20 vendors, including Microsoft, Toshiba and IBM.

The event focused on training, with the likes of BullGuard, Gigabyte and Lenovo running sessions in the four training rooms.

“We’re happy with how it’s gone so far,” Paul Cubbage, Target’s managing director, told PCR on the day. “This year has been about training so we’ve had things going on all the way through from 10.30 to 4.30.”

This year’s Open Day covered a space of just under 5,000 square feet – double the size of last year, which was attended by around 12 vendors. Cubbage said he hoped the event would grow even further in 2011.

“We would love to build on it next year,” he said, but ruled out a change of location.

“We’ve always held Open Day here because we like the fact that people can come and see where we are, rather than going to a conference centre or hotel somewhere – it’s a little bit more in keeping with us.”
