Yorkshire-based distributor attributes success to independent sector

Target Components reports 40% growth for 2009

Target Components has revealed that its sales grew by 40 per cent last year, with its workforce expanding to meet the increase in business.

The distributor attributes the growth to its ongoing focus on independent retailers and small to medium system integrators and resellers, and says that it shows that this segment of the market is stronger than ever.

Referring to the economic downturn as a ‘Robin Hood Recession’, managing director Paul Cubbage said: “Whilst we’ve seen some major high street names fail over the last year or so, independent retailers are thriving as customers turn to the expertise and exceptional customer service that indies can offer their local communities.”
