Stone to offer Lenovo servers to education and public sector

Stone Group has partnered with Lenovo to give its customers access to the vendor’s System X and ThinServer ranges.

Stone and Lenovo’s extended relationship will help drive greater penetration and increased market share for both companies and provide customers with a choice of server and storage technology that has been specially developed for their requirements.

Peter Berks, purchasing director at Stone Group commented: “We’ve been a Lenovo Gold Partner for five years, providing end-user devices enriched with Stone configuration, maintenance and service. The expansion of the Lenovo portfolio will give our customers access to the System X and ThinkServer range. This will ensure we are offering the highest levels of product for those who are looking for private cloud or hybrid solutions.

“Lenovo is an excellent fit for Stone. We’ve got similarly tight and effective quality control and customer service cultures, so we are on the same page with our goals for the partnership.

“Stone Infrastructure Services (SIS) is seeing a huge amount of traction for a range of cloud solutions, but we understand the public sector and appreciate that there is still a big appetite, and need for replacement on-premise servers and storage in many situations. The relationship with Lenovo is a long-term investment for the future of both businesses and our customer service and support strategy.”

Guy England, enterprise business group director at Lenovo, added: “Lenovo’s diverse portfolio of server products is perfectly suited for the public sector. From small schools to large complex environments within healthcare, Stone Group has built a strong reputation in the UK and we are excited to deepen our relationship with them across our full product portfolio.”
