New facility triples manufacturing capacity

Stone Group moves to new premises

The Stone Group has completed its move its new premises, a 100,000 square foot facility called Granite One Hundred.

The new site consolidates both of Stones former facilities, and will help the company meet increasing demand for its desktop and laptop devices, especially after it was awarded contracts such as its bid to supply to the University of Nottingham.

Stone Group says that these facilities allow them to increase production from 50 to 150 units per hour, which translates to over half a million units every year. The site also includes an upgrade line, recycling plant and a QA inspection area.

“This has been a great opportunity to design a building which suits our company needs, and which gives us space to grow further,” said Stone’s CEO James Bird.

“This year, we have been successfully listed as suppliers on both the Home Access and Buying Solutions frameworks, as well as winning major contracts such as the Universities of Leeds and Nottingham. This new facility will allow us to maximize these opportunities, and future successful bids, whilst maintaining our exemplary customer service record.”
