Staples is offering 3D printing services in two of its US stores.
The retailer has been selling 3D printers over the past year, but the new service will allow shoppers to walk in to a store and pay for a 3D printed model without having to splash out on buying a device themselves.
Most of the printing will happen in the New York and Los Angeles stores. But for bigger jobs, the firm will outsource the printing to 3D Systems.
Of the pilot takes off, Staples has said it will expand the 3D printing serves to more stores.
The firm already offers a 3D printing services for small businesses in Europe, but there is currently no word yet as to whether the consumer service will make it’s way across the pond.
