Yesterday game developers Square Enix released a new trailer for Hitman: Absolution, featuring Agent 47 killing a load of sexy nuns.
They’re not real nuns of course, but rather a ‘wetworks team’ called The Saints, who’ve been sent to kill Agent 47 after turning against his former emplyees.
Rumours have been doing the rounds that the trailer would be revealing a new multiplayer option. Some eager fans will be disappointed to find out that the trailer, created by CGI studio Visual Works, is pre-rendered and doesn’t involve any gameplay.
Some fans seem shocked by the graphic violence and sexual imagery: ‘Can’t believe how misogynistic this trailer is,’ comments one YouTube user, yet another just left a comment saying ‘Sexy girl’ so there's clearly a mixed reaction to the video.
Keza MacDonal from ign.com called the trailer ‘The most troubling piece of marketing material I think I’ve ever seen’ in a recent opinion piece, which you can read here.
