A robotic exoskeletal dubbed the ‘Spider Dress’ was unveiled at CES last week, designed as a defense system if someone gets too close.
The dress uses Intel Edison technology and features animatronic mechanical limbs.
Anouk Wipprecht is the designer behind the 3D-printed dress, which was first showcased at the trade show.
Each limb responds to external stimuli while also defending the personal space of the wearer.
For example, it uses proximity sensors and a respiration sensor, which activates the limbs if someone approaches the wearer in an aggressive manner.
