Sony updates Vaio range

Sony has bolstered its Vaio laptop series with a slew of models launched under new brand ranges, each addressing a particular market segment.

The F series is skewed towards multimedia uses, with a features including a 16.4-inch HD display powered by a quad-core i7 CPU and an Nvidia graphics chipset that utilises GDDR3 VRAM, and comes with a Blu-ray drive as standard.

The S series comes with some heavyweight specifications too. It is powered by the Intel Core i7, has 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and also includes an Nvidia GeForce 310M graphics chipset.

The Y series has a slightly smaller screen and is geared less towards high performance use. Models in the range have a 13.3-inch display and a battery life of around nine hours. It features a multi-touch trackpad, and includes one-touch access to the Vaio Care troubleshooting service.
