Sony has used the IFA 2010 show in Berlin to demonstrate the 3D capabilities of its prototype Vaio laptop.

Sony’s presentation at the event was a celebration of 3D display, with the keynote speeches being filmed and projected in 3D, while the prototype Vaio demonstrated its 3D capabilities in Full HD, featuring 200Hz high frame rate technology and LED backlighting.

“The 3D train is moving forward, speedily and steadily, like China’s Harmony Express. And Sony clearly has the strongest engine in this 3D express,” said Sony’s CEO Sir Howard Stringer.

The device will be available on the market next year, with a more advanced version to be displayed at CES 2010.
