SoftMaker unveils Office 2016 rival ahead of Microsoft?s expected autumn launch

SoftMaker Office 2016 for Windows has launched in the UK, which the firm says is the alternative for Microsoft Office.

The firm’s new suite has features designed specifically for corporate customers and includes an array of office programs, customised Thunderbird email client and calendar tool, and translation dictionaries for English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.

Other features include group policy functionality, pivot tables in spreadsheets and advanced export options with EPUB and PDF output.

“SoftMaker Office 2016 is a software package that has been optimised for speed and provides uncompromising compatibility with Microsoft Office – both to modern document formats DOCX, XLSX and PPTX as well as older binary formats DOC, XLS and PPT,” says the firm.

SoftMaker Office 2016 can be installed in corporate networks automatically, and administrators can manage the application configuration centrally.

The firm says one of its mission goals is to provide the best service and support and so guarantees unlimited email and online forum support, promising that if an error occurs, it can be corrected normally within two working days.
