Sharp are set to launch the firm’s Galapagos Android-powered tablets in Japan on the 10th of December in 5.5-inch and 10.8-inch form factors.
The unusually small, Dell Streak-like, 5.5-inch tablet is armed with a 1024×600 resolution TFT screen while the 10.8-inch unit has a 1366 x 800 resolution display. Both are fitted with 802.11b/g wireless and 8GB of storage via a Micro SDHC slot and both also come with mini USB and headphone sockets.
The smaller unit weighs just 220gr and is good for 7 hours of battery life while the larger model weighs a still impressive 765gr and the battery stretches to 10.5 hours.
