Software developer Serif has announced a new agreement with supermarket retailer Asda, which will see its range of photo-editing programs be sold through the retailer for the first time.

Serif publishes a wide range of creative software, but it is PhotoPlus X5 and PhotoPlus Essentials that will be making their first appearance in Asda - both in the 74 Asda Photo Centres across the UK, and also online at the retailer's electrical department.

“One of our main aims to ensure that we save our customers money every day by selling an excellent mix of products at affordable prices,” commented Hayley Whittaker, camera accessories buyer at Asda. “The partnership with Serif helps to expand the online and in-store ranges in our Photo Centre department, which we want to establish as a place for shoppers to buy accessories for their photography needs.”

Serif products are already available at retailers such as HobbyCraft, Staples and Jessops, but breaking through to Asda is a major step for the brand.

“This Asda deal is a significant move for us and promises to expand the availability of our creative software to consumers who want to take advantage of low prices,” said Ellie Robinson, head of business development EMEA at Serif. “Both PhotoPlus X5 and PhotoPlus Essentials are great value products, so it is fantastic to partner with a trusted brand that constantly delivers great service and affordable goods.”
