The UK?s Citrix market leader - IQ Sys ? is bought out for an undisclosed amount

SCH aims for Citrix dominance with new buyout

The UK’s largest Citrix supplier has been bought out by distributor SCH in a move to establish a “clear and overall market leader”.

SCH says its acquisition of UK-based IQ Sys will give the buying company a 60 per cent market share. The price of the buyout was not disclosed, though SCH pledged to “retain and build on” the IQ Sys brand.

The takeover quickly follows SCH’s purchase of ISI in 2008, a move which provided the growing company closer ties with companies such as IBM, Sun technologies, VMware and Symantec.

“The deal forms part of a clear and long standing strategy to evolve the breadth and depth of SCHd’s capability to enable resellers to go to market with the solutions and services demanded by their customers,” said SCH CEO Sir Peter Rigby.

Kevin Bland, Citrix Systems’ partner sales director for the UK and Ireland, said “the purchase is a reflection of [SCH’s] continued support and investment in Citrix and is the result of a deliberate decision to extend their reach further into the channel and take IQ-Sys’ strength into their own extended base.”
