Yes it really does have that massive 720p screen

Samsung Galaxy Nexus specs confirmed

A Japanese advert for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone has appeared which has confirmed a number of the specifications of the high-end device which will debut Android 4.0.

In what looks like a promotional poster for the new device, a number of specifications are visible including a 1.2GHz OMAP4460 processor and the same 4.7-inch 1280×720 Super AMOLED display from the Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE.

Carrying the Nexus branding means Samsung is set to produce the second Google-branded phone. Nexus-branded handsets ship with the default Android installation and act as a reference platform. The phones are also popular due to ease of unlocking and modifying the underlying firmware.

Each of the Nexus smartphones have also been based on a different system-on-chip with the original Nexus One based on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, the Nexus S on Samsung’s dual-core 1GHz Hummingbird and now, it seems, TI’s dual core ARM A9 OMAP4460 which has a beefy SGX540 graphics core and capability to record 1080p video.

Samsung and Google are holding a press event in Hong Kong later today in which the firms are expected to official unveil the Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.0 Icecream Sandwich.
