Firm says there will be no more handsets in the S4 range

Samsung announces the last of its Galaxy S4 spinoffs, Zoom, Active and Mini

At yesterday’s Samsung Premiere 2013 event the firm unveiled three more additions to its Galaxy S4 range, the Zoom, Active and Mini.

Samsung’s DJ Lee also revealed that these would be the last devices in the Galaxy S4 range. “With the arrival of the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy S4 Zoom we can finally say the Galaxy S4 range is complete,” said the President and Head of Sales and Marketing for Samsung’s IT and Mobile Communications Division said.

The Galaxy S4 Mini is a 4.3-inch mid-market device with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and an 8MP rear-camera.

The S4 Active sports the same 1.9Ghz quad-core processor as the flagship model but can be submerged under a metre of water for up to 30 minutes. It also has an 8MP camera.

Samsung actually announced the S4 Zoom some days ago after a rouge review of the device appeared online. It features a 16Mp camera and 10x zoom lens and retains all the features of the original S4 device.

There’s been a LOT of Galaxy handsets announced so far this year, including the Young, Fame, Win and Ace 3. The firm has pretty much flogged the Galaxy range to within an inch of its life. Nice to hear they’re finally be moving on…probably to the Galaxy S5 range…
