UK system builder Rock has announced it is currently looking to offer Blu-ray options across its range shortly, following Microsoft and Toshiba dropping their support for HD DVD.
Rock had been one of the format's staunchest supporters of the format, making it standard in all of its laptop and desktop PCs.
Speaking about the move, Rock's marketing and PR manager James Dean told PC Retail: "When HD DVD was made standard in our units, there was no price increase; therefore they remained standard."
"We are looking to offer Blu-ray options shortly. In the meantime, however, all customers – including those who have existing orders with us – have the option to downgrade to a standard DVD-RW."
