Ricoh to expand business across Africa as part of global growth strategy

Print specialist Ricoh is continuing to move into new territories.

The firm has signed up to trade show Distree Africa 2015 which takes place from June 10th to 12th in a bid to expand its business in the region.

It’s the latest move as part of the vendor’s international growth strategy. Ricoh ITDC has already expanded into Belarus and CIS region, Czech Republic, Slovakia, North Africa, as well as the Middle East and Gulf region in the last 12 months.

Matthew Clark, head of business development for Ricoh’s IT Distribution Channel, said: “Ricoh is the world number one for A3 copier systems and using this technical expertise we have sought to develop our range of A4 print and MFP products targeting the SOHO and SME segments of the market.

"Ricoh is actively seeking channel partners to sell the Ricoh ITDC range in Africa and we feel that the DISTREE AFRICA event is the ideal forum to meet as many potential partners as possible to explain our exciting plans for Africa.”

During the event Ricoh will be showcasing GelJet printers, which it describes as a cost effective and eco-sensitive alternative to laser and inkjet printers for homes and offices. Ricoh will also display a range of colour and mono laser printers and multi-function printers.

Ricoh is pushing the Ricoh SP C250DN colour printer with wired and wireless network connectivity, allowing users to also print from or scan to a smartphone or tablet.

Headquartered in Tokyo, Ricoh Group operates in about 200 countries and regions. In the financial year ending March 2015, Ricoh Group had worldwide sales of 2,231 billion yen (approximately $18.5 billion).
