Taiwanese notebook manufacturer Acer has revealed that CEO and president Gianfranco Lanci has resigned from the company.
Lanci, who was also president of Acer EMEA, reportedly held different views from the board over the company’s future strategy.
Acer said: “[They] could not reach a consensus following several months’ of dialogue. They placed different levels of importance on scale, growth, customer value creation, brand position enhancement, and on resource allocation and methods of implementation.”
Acer chairman JT Wang will become acting president in the interim, while deputy president of Acer EMEA Walter Deppeler (pictured) has been promoted to president of Acer EMEA with immediate effect.
