Founder of US VoodooPC, Rahool Sood, announced that he is to joinn Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business.

Making the announcement on his personal blog, Sood said that he was joining as the general manager of 'system experience' within the group.

Sood's VoodooPC was acquired by HP in 2006 as the computer builder sought to acquire a high-margin gaming PC business to compete with Dell's Alienware brand.

The VoodooPC genetics were seen in a range of HP products, most notably the Envy range. Last month Sood announced he was leaving HP, saying at the time: "We merged, we invented, we kicked ass, and we had fun, but then things got a little complicated."

Sood's blog was the platform for a number of outspoken opinion peices about PC gaming in general including a statement in July that he believed Microsoft killed off cross-platform multiplayer gaming because PC gamers were systematically besting Xbox gamers.

Announcing his appointment at Microsoft, Sood said that he expected to be working on 'really....really...really cool stuff' in January 2011.
