Heimdal sees PXS as a ‘perfect fit’

PXS Distribution partners with Heimdal security software

PXS Distribution has bolstered its security product portfolio with the addition of Heimdal.

The security software was developed in 2011 by the 19th and 20th Team DEF CON CTF World Champions in hacking. DEF CON is one of the world’s largest annual hacker conventions and has been held annually since 1993.

Heimdal has been driven by a range of experts in the security field, from the likes of BullGuard and Bitdefender, and will now be available from PXS Distribution in the UK.

Analyst Gartner has selected Heimdal Security (part of CSIS Security Group) as one of their representative 27 on Cyber Threat intelligence.

The vendor’s software is now used to protect various organisations across Europe against attacks, and uses a client based traffic scanning engine which protects users against Zero Hour exploits, dangerous web locations, malicious content from legitimate websites, cybercriminal attacks and data leakage.

Heimdal’s technology was also one of the selected few in the Cryptolocker takedown initiated by the US Department of Justice, the FBI and Europol.

Robert Hall, MD of PXS Distribution UK, said: “We are pleased to be working with Heimdal. The Heimdal product is unique as antivirus software traditionally looks for files and actions, whereas Heimdal looks at traffic and prevents hackers from stealing data from your PC and moving it out of the network.

“We are looking forward to introducing Heimdal to our channel base and growing market share in the UK.”

Alan Case, country manager for UK and Ireland at Heimdal, added: “We see PXS as the perfect fit to help take our products and core proposition out into the UK channels.

“We focus on the B2B, SMB and Enterprise markets and will be developing a consumer product in June.”
